Alicia Laing, Web Designer & Visual Artist

Creative Mode proprietor, Alicia Laing, is a Brisbane web designer with 20+ years hands-on experience in small business management and marketing across a broad range of industries in Brisbane Australia.

Alicia completed 3 years of a BVA (Commercial Photography) at Queensland College of Art in Morningside before leaving in 1997 to take on a full-time position as admin manager at 'The Hub' in the Brisbane CBD.

The Hub was the first internet cafe in the southern hemisphere and employed more than 30 people across its four main area's of business: web development, internet training centre, internet cafe and local ISP. The company was Brisbane's first boutique ISP and internet cafe.

Alicia eventually left The Hub to pursue a career as a web designer but, lacking experience, spent the next few years providing accountancy, internet consulting and computerised bookkeeping and marketing services for small business owners whilst learning web design at night.

Alicia began trading as "Gamma Graphic Design" in January 2002. In June 2003 the trading name was changed to Creative Mode and a pure 'web focus' developed. Alicia's 'insiders view' of small business in Brisbane and experience gained from working across the board for retail, wholesale, service and manufacturing businesses has provided a unique perspective.

This has distinguished Creative Mode as one of Brisbane's leading professional web design studios for Australian small business sites.

Now married with a young daughter, Alicia continues to strive for excellence in small business website design with every website a genuine custom design, built from scratch to meet each clients exact requirements.
